'Angel' watching over road accident victim appears in photo taken by South Carolina pastor
Nobody has yet conclusively seen much less photographed an angel, which is described in Wikipedia as a "non-physical entity or spirit found in various religions and mythologies."
But this may not be true anymore as a pastor from South Carolina has apparently taken a snapshot of an angel watching over the body of a car crash victim on the highway. He even posted the photo on his Facebook page.
In the post he made accompanying the picture, Michael Clary, pastor at Church of God of Prophecy in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, said he was traveling on rural highway 252 on Dec. 3 when a Ford Explorer that passed him veered too far to the left, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle which smashed into a pine tree.
"This SUV passed me on Hwy. 252... it came around me, it went too far left, running off [the] shoulder, over-corrected going sideways in front of me. Started rolling over, I counted four times before hitting a ditch then going airborne, [it] hit about twelve feet against a large pine. ...I saw something come out of the passenger side window," Clary writes.
"When I got to where it was I was shocked to see a young man on [the] ground curled in a ball. The whole time this was happening, I was in prayer mode, asking God to protect this person.
"After all emergency responders got there and he was airlifted, I was still praying. Just a few minutes after I got home we got a report [that] he has a broken leg and a cut on his ear. What a mighty prayer answering God we have, thank You Lord for having me in the right place at the right time."
The victim was airlifted to a hospital, where he was reportedly treated for a punctured lung, a broken collar bone and several broken ribs, Conservative Tribune reported.
Clary said he managed to take a few photographs. Moments later, when he looked at the photographs he took, Clary was stunned when he saw what he believes was God's answer to his prayer to protect the road accident victim. The picture he took shows a hazy image of what appears to be a guardian angel looking over the victim's body.
Angels are often depicted as "benevolent celestial beings who act as intermediaries between God or Heaven and Earth, or as guardian spirits or a guiding influence," according to Wikipedia.
Their roles, according to the online encyclopaedia, include "protecting and guiding human beings, and carrying out God's tasks."
Various artists have depicted angels with bird-like wings on their backs, a halo, robes and various forms of glowing light.
But what Clary saw did not seem to have those features.
Those who have seen the photo as posted in the pastor's Facebook page noted a small, bluish, transparent figure in the upper right foreground.
Lynn Wooten, a cousin of the crash victim said, "You can see on the picture to the right-hand side that an angel has actually knelt, with his hands up over him, praying for him," Breaking Christian News reported.
The "angel" image in the photo has yet been verified by a competent authority. However, whether what appeared in the photo was the image of a real angel or not, nobody can dispute that a miracle did happen to the victim of the horrendous road accident. He was reportedly discharged in hospital on Dec. 9 with relatively minimal injuries from the accident.
