'Assassin's Creed' new game update: details leak ahead of new game's unveiling

Information about a new title under the successful "Assassin's Creed" franchise is set to be unveiled on May 12. However, it seems that a game insider has leaked some details ahead of schedule.

Developer and publisher Ubisoft has announced that the next "Assassin's Creed" will be unveiled on Tuesday via a world premiere. A teaser on the publisher's site confirmed the schedule.

In the image, a set of brass knuckles is prominently displayed, together with an inscribed "Strength through Loyalty" line. Intricately carved designs surround the familiar "Assassin" logo in the middle of the brass knuckles. There are also scratched lines around the weapon, with the most familiar one coming from Charles Dickens. Another one, "God Save the Queen," seem to indicate that the next setting for the game will take place in Victorian London.

However, even if the scheduled unveiling is to take place this week, leaks have already sprung out regarding the next "Assassin's Creed" game.

According to game site Polygon, the new title is dubbed as "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate," confirming previous reports and, at the same time, contradicting others that predicted the the next installment's title as "Victory." Additionally, in the marketing materials obtained by the site, the next protagonist in the series is named Jacob Frye, and observers note that the main character might be a London-based assassin, with the plot revolving around politics in the early days of the United Kingdom.

Even if no other details such as the plot and release date were made available, Polygon notes that those who would pre-order the upcoming game at GameStop will receive a replica shilling necklace, same as the one to be worn by Frye in the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" installment.

The new "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" game is expected to be released this coming holiday for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
