Marvel may already have a star-studded cast so maybe one more high-profile name wouldn't hurt.

According to reports, Beyonce could be possibly the next big name to join the cast of Marvel superheroes in the Avengers franchise.

The reports have been sparked from the Daily Star where a senior executive reportedly mentioned that they would love to have Beyonce on board.

Beyonce, together with hubby Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy have recently relocated to Holmby Hills in Los Angeles. The move was said to be something that could help rekindle the former Destiny Child member's movie career.

With that said, the speculations are now running wild on which character Beyonce could be portraying.

Various superhero names have come up though some may not ring a bell if you are not an avid Marvel comic reader.

Among the characters she could possibly play include Tigra, a cat-like hero who carries superhuman strength and uncanny speed/agility or Boom-Boom, a secret agent that can create plasma bombs. She could also take on the Blink character who has been known to have the ability to transport.

Whoever Beyonce portrays, the singer could likely be injected in the next Avengers films – Infinity War 1 (2018) and Infinity War 2 (2019).

This isn't the first time that Beyonce has been considered to take on a superhero role.

In 2008, she was being considered to portray Wonder Woman in the DC Universe brand but was subsequently ruled out when Gal Gadot gained the nod.

Aside from Dream Girls, other movies where Beyonce starred in include Austin Powers In Goldmember, The Pink Panther and The Fighting Temptations.

In an article from Hero Complex, Beyonce said:

"I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?"
