Jerry Greer, the 19-year-old son of country singer Craig Morgan, has been found dead in Kentucky Lake, Tennessee, following a tubing accident.

The recovery of his body was confirmed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency late on Monday, after a search was started on Sunday following a boating accident on the lake. He was with another teenager at the time, who is safe, and was reported missing on Sunday at around 4pm.

Sheriff Chris Davis told reporters that Greer was wearing a life jacket when the boat was tipped over by a wave. After falling into the water, however, he failed to resurface.

According to a statement released by the Morgan family's rep, Greer was a 2016 graduate of Dickson County High School and was planning to play football for Marshall University in the fall.

The family requested prayers on Monday when the search for Greer was underway and has again requested prayers following the discovery of his body.

"It is with deep sadness that I am confirming the passing of Jerry Greer, son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer," Morgan's rep said in a statement to PEOPLE

The rep added, "The family is grateful for the outpouring of support and requests prayers at this time as they privately mourn this terrible loss. Jerry is survived by parents Craig and Karen Greer, sister Aly Beaird and brother-in-law Ryan Beaird, brother Kyle Greer and fiancée Chelsea Rogers and brother Wyatt Greer."

Morgan has enjoyed several top 10 country hits, including "That's What I Love About Sunday" and "Tough".

The Army veteran is also the host of Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors on the Outdoor Channel, which Greer had previously appeared on.

The country music community has rallied around the Morgan family in light of the tragedy.

Craig Campbell told his Twitter followers "Stop what you're doing and say a prayer," while Martina McBride said, "As a parent, my heart breaks for this family."
