'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' rumors: new teaser image hints at possible game features
Scott Cawthon, developer of the indie game franchise "Five Nights at Freddy's," has again updated his official website with another teaser image for the upcoming "Five Nights at Freddy's 4: The Final Chapter." This time, the latest teaser image shows a small stuffed animal resembling another iconic character from the series, Springtrap. The character is seen as ominously sitting in a chair in a darkened room.
Aside from the chilling effect the image has, there is also a menacing message scrawled saying, "Terrible things come in small packages."
As with other previous teaser images that Cawthon has released for fans of the series, the latest one is full of symbolism that observers are reading into. A window is set just above the character, and a view of the outside can be seen. This seems to indicate that some, if not all, of the murders in the plot for the upcoming title will be in a home-like setting, deviating from the pizzeria and restaurant-style rooms in previous occasions.
In addition, some of the more eagle-eyed fans point out that there are four doors in the image, signifying more entrances for players to worry about in the final chapter in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" series. Also, some fans point out that a phrase found in the image's source code reveals a name – Plushtrap – which could be the name for the new character.
In addition to the new teaser image on the website, Cawthon has also updated his personal IndieDB page with what observers agree on as the menacing jaws and likeness of Fredbear, with an "NFB" caption. Cawthon, a master at displaying teasers yet giving up little to no information, has not commented on what the caption means, which has prompted fans to speculate that the image could swing to both extremes – it could mean Nightmare Fredbear, or another completely different detail about the upcoming game.
