'Five Nights at Freddy's' news: New game for franchise is an RPG
Fans of the hit animatronic horror series "Five Nights at Freddy's" were ecstatic when franchise creator Scott Cawthon said that he will be coming up with a new game on the franchise. However, Cawthon insisted that the original "Five Nights at Freddy's" story was already complete with the fourth installment, "The Final Chapter," and there will never be a "Five Nights at Freddy's 5."
The new upcoming game, "Five Nights at Freddy's World," has been described by Cawthon as a role-playing spinoff of the franchise. On the Steam page for "Five Nights at Freddy's 4," Cawthon wrote, "The new game that I'm working on will be called 'FNAF World.' It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I've been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week."
Although Cawthon and his team at Scott Games are hard at work for the upcoming title, it seems that Cawthon's original schedule of having a demo of the new game released together with the Halloween update for "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" will not happen. However, Cawthon promised fans to release the demo immediately after it is finished. The creator added, "The bad news is that it's unlikely that a demo will be ready for Halloween like I had hoped, since this game's scope is significantly larger than previous games in the series. However, I will release a free demo, as promised, as soon as it's ready!"
Meanwhile, in related news, the production for the movie adaptation of the franchise is still being kept under wraps. Aside from some teaser images from director Gil Kenan, not much is being said about the upcoming adaptation, whether the movie will follow the events on the video game titles, or if the animatronics from the four "Five Nights at Freddy's" will make it to the big screen.
