Former American Idol Contestant Mandisa Graces GMA Stage

|PIC1|NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - Former American Idol contestant Mandisa has graced the stage in numerous events at the GMA Music Week, drawing cheers from the crowd as she sang and gave her testimony regarding the faithfulness of God.

In a luncheon showcase sponsored by EMI CMG, Mandisa spoke about weight issues and the dark period she suffered after being eliminated from American Idol last year. A dynamic performance followed her testimony.

In addition, Mandisa hosted the songwriters showcase on Sunday with legendary Christian artist Mark Schultz, and will be one of the performers at the 38th annual Dove Awards, 25 April.

Other performers include TobyMac, Kirk Franklin, Take 6, The Crabb Family, MercyMe and Chris Tomlin, while Michael W Smith, Brenda Lee and Bob & Larry from VeggieTales are among those slated as presenters

The GMA Music Week kicked off Saturday 21 April and will wrap up 25 April. The annual event, held in Nashville, Tennessee, is expected to entertain some 3,000 people with genre-specific programming such as seminars, workshops and showcases.
