Nexus 6 release date, specs: Google Nexus X set for Halloween launch?

Will this be how Nexus 6 will look like once it becomes available in the market? Facebook

Rumors keep on piling up about the so-called Google Android flagship smartphone, the Nexus 6.

Here are the latest details about Nexus 6 that are currently circulating online.

The first one is about the manufacturer that will release the said gadget. There are reports saying that the Nexus 6 will be built by Motorola, while others mention that HTC will be the firm that will produce the said gadget.

But if the reports posted on some publications are reliable, then the smartphone will be produced by Motorola. The device, which was given the code name "Shamu," will either be called Moto X, Moto S, or Nexus X. Phone Arena mentioned in their website that Google will not be able to use the name Nexus 6 because of copyright issues, since the name is already officially designated for the cyborg characters in the sci-fi novel "Do Android Dream of Electric Sheep" written by Philip K. Dick.

However, both companies are still keeping mum about the speculations.

Meanwhile, the rumored specs for Nexus 6 have been circulating online. The smartphone is rumored to have a 5.2-inch QHD (2560x1440p) screen display with a pixel density of more than 550 ppi (pixels per inch). It will be run by an Android L OS, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) processor with a top CPU speed of 2.7GHz. The phone will also feature a 13.0-megapixel primary camera as well as a 2.1-megapixel secondary camera in front.

As for the phone's release date, both PC Advisor and TK Tech News announced that it will be released in the market sometime between October and November this year, probably before Halloween.
