iPhone 6C news: 4-inch iPhone may be set for April 2016 launch
China Mobile leaked details on the release date of the next iPhone rumoured to be a 4-inch model saying that the handset will launch on April 2016.
According to My Drivers, cellular company China Mobile recently held an event where it revealed plans for 2016. One of the details that came out was an April 2016 unveiling of what analysts are calling the iPhone 6C
Also leaked is the price range where people will be able to get the smartphone for 3200 chinese yuan or $500.
As previously reported by 9to5 Mac, Apple is coming up with a second March event, the first one happening last year where Apple fans got a first glimpse at the Apple Watch, 12-inch MacBook and many other big releases from the Cupertino-based tech giant.
Sources are saying that the event will also be where the iPhone 6C and a new Apple Watch will be revealed, which gives Apple approximately a month to roll-out the iPhone 6C if both reports claim to be true.
The upcoming 4-inch iPhone will bring the experience back to older iPhone devices like the iPhone 4s. The handset is meant to be a more affordable version of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S plus.
Some rumoured specs for the smaller iPhone include a 2.5D glass protection with curved edges much like the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, and Apple's latest A9 processor to be accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. The handset is expected to have the same thickness as the latest models packing a thinner and lighter phone than previous models, and the same Touch ID technology. The iPhone 6C will most likely also have a metallic unibody design, which means users will not be expecting multi-color backsides like the iPhone 5C had.
The smartphone's cameras are rumoured to be 8 megapixels for the rear-facing camera, and 1.2 megapixels for the front-facing selfie shooter.
