Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez head to Bible study again; shares pic with pastor buddy Carl Lentz and Bible verse
Pop star Justin Bieber appears to be reconnecting with Christ, and on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez.
The 20-year-old was spotted at Los Angeles' City Church on Wednesday, and Gomez – a singer and actress – was with him.
Bieber counts Pastor Judah Smith, who heads the church's Seattle location, a spiritual mentor and a friend.
Allegedly, Gomez arrived first with her friend, actress Francia Raisa, and Bieber arrived after the Bible study started.
"The pair sat next to each other while partaking in Bible study and seemed very close," a source told the Daily Record. "They then left together in Bieber's car."
After Bible Study, the "Baby" singer posted a photo of him holding Gomez in his arms while she kisses his cheek. He captioned the picture, "Right now everything else is a blur."
It is unclear whether the picture was snapped this week or whether it is an old photo, as Bieber is wearing a beanie and Gomez is wearing a leather jacket in the picture.
Last month, it was reported that actor Orlando Bloom got into a fight with the Canadian singer in Ibiza, Spain over Bloom's estranged wife – Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr. While in Ibiza, paparazzi also spotted Bieber hanging out with Playboy Playmate Alyssa Arce, Kendall Jenner, and Victoria's Secret model Shanina Shaik.
A source said that Bieber considers Gomez special, however.
"Justin looked really comfortable with Selena as he still thinks their bond is unbreakable and knows that Selena will always love him," reported the Daily Record.
Neither singer has commented on rumors that they are again a couple. Instead, Bieber shared a spiritual message with his fans.
He tweeted "God is good" on Thursday, and received over 70,000 retweets. He then mentioned Pastor Smith in a post: "Who is your anchor? God is good @judahsmith."
About ten hours later, he shared an Instagram photo paraphrasing a scripture.
"After you have suffered a little while, God will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10," the post read.
Pastor Carl Lentz of Hillsong Church was mentioned in the singer's most recent tweet. Two months ago, Lentz reportedly baptized Bieber in a New York bathroom after the star requested a private ceremony.
