MacBook Air 2016 release date, specs rumors: Spring launch a possibility
The MacBook Air 2016 has largely existed only in rumors, but if those are too be believed, then the real thing may finally be arriving soon.
According to the latest rumors, the MacBook Air 2016 is now in line to be released sometime in the spring of next year.
According to Yibada, one reason to believe that the MacBook Air 2016 is coming sooner rather than later is that its predecessors are now having their prices reduced. The discounts themselves cannot be directly tied to an imminent release date for the MacBook Air 2016, although it could just as easily be seen as Apple's way of clearing the shelves for the arrival of a new product.
One more reason to expect next year's version of the MacBook to arrive in the spring is history. Past versions of the laptop have also been launched in the spring, and it would not be surprising to see Apple do the same thing this time around.
Still, even if the MacBook Air remains missing in action all the way through spring, folks eagerly awaiting its arrival apparently don't need to worry.
If spring is not the eventual release date of the rumored laptop, then the most likely time of arrival for the MacBook Air 2016 would be in the summer, according to MacWorld UK. June would be the likely time of arrival for the rumored laptop, possibly sometime before or after the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The newest version of the MacBook Air is expected to carry the retina display feature upon being released. As for its other specs and features, the laptop is expected to come with a variety of internal improvements, with new processors even being mentioned as likely additions.
Next year's MacBook Air is also expected to be significantly thinner and lighter than its most recent iteration.
More information about the MacBook Air 2016 will likely be revealed in the coming months.
