'Madam Secretary' season 2 spoilers: Elizabeth pushes for lifting of Cuban trade embargo in episode 7
Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) will labor to get the Senate's support to lift the trade embargo between the United States and Cuba in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "Madam Secretary."
In "You Say You Want a Revolution," Cartermatt reports that the Secretary of State is putting her foot down on making sure that the trade to the Caribbean island nation will be probable. President Dalton (Keith Carradine) is there to back her up in her bid to win the assembly. Can Elizabeth make history by making the impossible possible? Meanwhile, Henry (Tim Daly) and Alison (Kathrine Herzer) will have a fun father and daughter moment while exploring the well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture of the Havana.
Meanwhile, the promo released by CBS shows Elizabeth on a separate mission to apprehend a suspect in the shooting of a police officer almost 40 years ago. She wants to bring the woman back to the United States so that she can serve her sentence. The incident happened when the young cop was trying to stop the cab she and her friends were in to arrest them. Things got dirty when someone pulled off the trigger. While it was unclear who shot first, the ending was that the cop was killed. The suspect, a couple of decades after, still maintains her statement that she did not kill anyone.
Last episode, Elizabeth worked hard to recall all the American aid workers in war torn Syria, including her brother Will (Eric Stoltz). The stringent measure was put in motion after an American humanitarian was murdered by an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) leader. The fact that the terrorist was the first known American head of the extremist group made it doubly troubling for the United States. Elizabeth made sure that justice was served for the victim.
"Madam Secretary" season 2 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
