'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date compromised as senior developer leaves

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is slated to be released late next year. BioWare

The release date of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" has been put into question as senior game developer Chris Wynn is reportedly leaving the BioWare team.

In a tweet posted by the game developer himself, he said that he will be leaving the "Mass Effect" development project with a heavy heart. The reason for his departure was not specified. "It is with a heavy heart today to say that I am moving on from BioWare and Mass Effect: Andromeda, and returning to the USA," Wynn said in his tweet.

With regards to what's left of the team, BioWare has assured fans of the "Mass Effect" franchise that the development of the latest installment of the game is still well under schedule and is well managed.

"Chris was a great member of the team. We want to thank him for his contributions and we wish him the best in his new adventures. Development of Mass Effect Andromeda continues to move full speed ahead at BioWare Montreal, Edmonton and Austin," BioWare stated to Game Informer.

In other related news, BioWare has also confirmed through an official blog entry that the game will be showcased in the upcoming E3 conference, which is scheduled on June 14-16, 2016 and will be happening in Los Angeles.

E3 is one of the biggest game expos of the year where exhibits for mobile, video and computer games are showcased by various developers and companies.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" marks the fourth installment of the "Mass Effect" series, an action role-playing game that takes players through the Andromeda Galaxy to shoot their way through challenges and rivals.

The fourth part of the game will be available on the Microsoft Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4 and Windows 10 desktop and will bring a multiplayer setting to the game.

The game is set to release on the fourth quarter of the year, just in time for the holiday seasons.
