"Mob Wives" season 5 was a hysterical season for everyone, although Angela "Big Ang" Raiola tried to remain as unbiased as possible in the war between Karen Gravano and Natalie Guercio. But now that the season is over, Big Ang is facing one tough war in her life — a battle against cancer.

Suffering from throat pain, the 54-year-old reality show star paid her doctor a visit, only to be diagnosed as having throat cancer. TMZ reported that the doctor saw a growth in her throat the size of the lemon. After doing some tests, the doctor diagnosed the tumor as malignant or cancerous, which will need to be extracted right away with the hope that the cancer hasn't spread yet.

Janine, Big Ang's sister, spoke to TMZ and shared that their family does not have a history of cancer. However, she thinks that Big Ang's smoking may be a cause before the doctor ordered Big Ang to stop smoking immediately.

"We are hoping for the best and are focusing on getting through the holiday. We love the fans and want to thank them," said Janine.

Elsewhere, Big Ang also shared her side of the story through her official Facebook page.

She wrote: "I went in for a test due to the nodule in my throat. I had a nerve wracking couple of days, as would anyone when you hear testing etc... However, I am home peaceful and relaxing. This coming week I will be taking proper precautions and having it removed."

She then continued to thank her fans for the love and support and assures everyone that she's on her way to getting treatment, saying, "Big Ang isn't going anywhere! This is a minor setback, but I promise you this... I already have some BIG things in the world and will be returning to your TVs very soon."

The reality TV star is set to return to "Mob Wives" season 6 along with the other series regulars, except for Natalie Guercio.
