Patrick Sookhdeo to face Crown Court trial for indecent assault
Patrick Sookhdeo, the former international director of Barnabas Aid International, has been sent for trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court on a charge of indecent assault on a woman in East London almost 40 years ago.
Sookhdeo, 68, was arrested on suspicion of the assault at Heathrow Airport last November.
He appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court yesterday accused of one count of indecent assault on a woman aged 16 or over in Plaistow in 1977.
The Metropolitan Police said Sookhdeo, of River Street, Pewsey, Wiltshire, was arrested following an investigation by detectives from Newham borough.
