Donald Trump is 'hungry in his heart for God', pastor Paula White tells American voters

Paula White, the spiritual adviser of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, has attested to the Christian faith of the business magnate time and time again.

This time, White tells CNN that Trump is a "man who loves God" and is "hungry in his heart for God," even though several evangelical leaders are still doubting his faith.

Granted, White says Trump makes a lot of mistakes when speaking about his faith, such as the time he used the term "two Corinthians" instead of "second Corinthians." The presidential hopeful also said one time that he did not need to ask God for forgiveness. But White was still quick to defend him, saying that she herself makes mistakes, too.

"I've been preaching for 32 years, and I say names, I go 'Guys, I'm making up the names, I'm saying it wrong, my pronunciation isn't always right,' but I understand that they want to hold Donald to the letter of the law. But what I can absolutely tell you about him is that he is a man who loves God," White says, adding that Trump is "much more hungry in his heart for God than I think people would imagine or expect."

Meanwhile, White tells The Christian Post that it's difficult to convince people during these cynical times who to vote for. She notes though that 1,000 evangelical leaders who met with Trump at Tower on June 21 were bowled over by him.

"They all left saying they trust him, and these are all leaders in the Evangelical community who are admired and trusted themselves," she says

Evangelical leader James Dobson recently slammed Trump as a "baby Christian" who does not know what he is doing. Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission President Russell Moore said Trump represents "the very kind of moral and cultural decadence that conservatives have been saying for a long time is the problem."

While Trump has not been able to win Moore to his side, he has convinced Dobson to support him. Dobson even endorsed Trump during the Republican National Convention last month.
