Fans and avid users of the Popcorn Time app may find the program to be very different in the months ahead.

Recently, the Dutch anti-piracy group Brein, has announced that it has forged an agreement with two of the program's developers. The agreement calls for both developers to cease work immediately on the app, according to Broadband TV News.

If the two Dutch developers are believed to have violated the terms of the agreement they signed with Brein, they will be asked to pay a fine. The fine will amount to $2,100 a day for each of the two developers, according to Yibada.

The recent proactive measures implemented by Brein to help curb the activity of Popcorn Time is part of the group's efforts to finally shut down the app's operations. Unfortunately for the group, it looks as though the two Dutch developers were not core members of the Popcorn Time, and there's a good chance that the app will continue operations moving forward.

It's also highly probable that the two Dutch developers mainly agreed to sign the agreement to avoid any court cases that they may be forced to deal with in the future.

There's also a chance that the agreement with the two Dutch developers could have a minimal effect on the operations of Popcorn Time, as they were just examples of various groups that have been keeping the app alive despite measures designed to lead to its demise. More developers could easily take the place of the two Dutch developers and continue to work on the app to keep it active moving forward.

Still, the work being done by Brein could go a long way toward showing prospective Popcorn Time developers and contributors to other torrent sites that the anti-piracy movement is gaining steam and tracking them down, possibly even acting as a deterrent for more people in the future.
