Sadie Robertson says new tattoo isn't to be cool but to remind her of living fearless in the name of Jesus

"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson never planned on getting a tattoo. Seeing her father Willie get inked every now and then always upset the "Live Original" teenager, but she changed her mind about it after conquering her anxiety and fear.

Robertson tells Rare that it was thanks to her faith in God that she conquered anxiety and fear, which plagued her for several years.

"Whenever I was struggling with anxiety for two years, I would wake up and I was scared," Robertson says. "I would go to bed, and I was scared; I would go through the day and was scared — constantly in this state of fear. The Bible says so many times not to fear, but it was like I couldn't shake it off of me."

Robertson let these two things affect her life until the November 2015 Paris attacks. That night, as she was preparing to speak at the Christian music tour Winter Jam, Robertson made a personal decision to shake off her fear for good.

"The thing that I realised is that it's not that things aren't scary and it's not that things aren't going to be scary," she says. "It's just realising that God has already conquered fear, and there's so much more to this life."

Robertson began to put her trust in God, although it wasn't easy at first. But as the days passed by, Robertson became braver and her anxiety and fear melted away. Being fearless also helped Robertson changed her life and inspire others, so she decided to get a tattoo about it to remind her of everything she was able to accomplish through God.

"[My tattoo is] not for anybody else, it's not to be cool," she says. "It's just so that I can see that I'm living fearless in the name of Jesus."
