Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini news: Listing for device spotted on UAE retailer's website

While all eyes are on the Samsung Galaxy S7, the next flagship by the South Korea-based tech firm expected to be released early next year, it looks like Samsung is not yet done with its current flagship. New details involving the so-called Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini have come to light.

Media outlets spotted a listing of the trimmed version of the Galaxy S6 on Lets Tango, an online retailer based in UAE. Here, some of its key specs were revealed. It was listed to feature a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED display, much smaller than the 5.1-inch screen of its bigger brother.

The RAM on the purported Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini was cut down to 2 GB with storage capacity now at 16 GB. It apparently has Android 5.1 Lollipop on board with a hexa-core 1.8 GHz CPU as its source of power. It houses a non-removable Li-ion battery although there was no mention of the capacity.

The slimmed down flagship apparently sports a 15-MP rear-facing camera (the regular Galaxy S6 has a 16-MP unit) and a 5-MP front-facing selfie snapper. Another key feature spotted in the Lets Tango listing is a PayPal-certified fingerprint sensor. The device also has Samsung Pay, the tech firm's official mobile payment service, fully functional.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini really sounds like a downscaled version of the flagship. Samsung has not confirmed a forthcoming release of the said smartphone though. So whether or not it will come to exist in the near future, much more specific details should trickle in soon. Unambiguous info about the processor and the battery should be available as well.

Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini is not available on Lets Tango, at least not yet. The retailer, however, offers to notify those who key in their email address in the event units arrive. Unfortunately, there were no details provided as to when that will happen.
