Samsung Galaxy S6 to be first smartphone to pack 4K display, Snapdragon 810
Samsung Galaxy S6 is reportedly the first device to pack a screen display with 4K screen resolution and the upcoming Snapdragon 810 processor.
A lot of work must be done for the successor of the Galaxy S5. The S5 was released early this year. However, in less than six months' time, a slew of more powerful smartphones emerged that left the Galaxy S5 biting the dust.
Samsung Galaxy S6 is bound for release early next year, most probably a year or less after its predecessor. It was speculated that the device will most likely retain the size of its screen, which is slightly below 5 inches. And to compensate for not increasing the screen size, the company will increase the resolution of the device. Some people are saying that the handset will come with 4K pixel resolution battling newer smartphones with QHD display.
Moreover, the device is rumored to also pack the upcoming Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm, which is the company's first 20nm processor to rival the company's Exynos 5433 and Apple's A8 processors. The upcoming chipset will support both 32- and 64-bit operating systems.
Rumors claim that smartphones with Snapdragon 810 will make an appearance during CES 2015. Some of the smartphones to boast the new chipset are LG G4, HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6, according to rumors. However, other reports say that the Galaxy S6 will pack its own Exynos chipset.
Other rumored features of the Samsung Galaxy S6 are an all-metal casing after Samsung showed-off the Galaxy Alpha. The handset will run with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, which supports 64-bit chipsets. At the back, the smartphone will sport a 20 MP camera. With all the power-hogging features, consumers can expect an upgrade on the battery capacity of the device.
The Galaxy S6 is speculated to be released in February 2015 at the Mobile World Congress event. Meanwhile, Samsung has not uttered a word about the rumors surrounding the Galaxy S6.
