Sony Xperia Z3 U.S. release date: T-Mobile pre-order begins exclusively
Sony is bringing its devices to U.S. shores this month. This is the first time that Sony is releasing its flagship smartphone in the U.S. so soon after its launch. Perhaps, the company has learned from its past releases to pay more attention to the market.
T-Mobile stated that the new Xperia Z3 will be exclusively offered in its network, and pre-order of the smartphone starts today. The handset will be available on the 29th.
Although T-Mobile is claiming that it will offer the device solely under its wing, there are whispers that the device will come to other carriers, too, such as Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Sony Xperia Z3 is rumored to arrive in Verizon later this month as the network stated that it will offer Xperia Z3v or a rehashed Xperia Z2 for $199 with two-year contract starting this week.
Sony Xperia Z3 packs features such as a 5.2-inch Full HD screen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC clocked at 2.5 GHz with 3 GB RAM, Adreno 330 GPU, Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS, 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants with microSD slot up to 128 GB additional storage, 20.7 MP snapper at the back with 4K video capture, digital image stabilization, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), and video sharing. It also comes with 2.2 MP selfie camera and 3,100 mAh battery capacity.
Meanwhile, Sony has announced details of another device dubbed as Xperia Z3 Compact, which is the smaller and lower grade version of the Xperia Z3. The device will be rolled out globally and will concentrate on emerging markets. However, it will still be available in the U.S. market.
The Xperia Z3 Compact can be purchased on Sony's U.S. online store for an unlocked price of $530. The Xperia Z3 Compact comes with a 4.6-inch 1280 x 720 display, a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of capturing 4K video. and Android 4.4 KitKat.
