Tim Tebow Prays Over Man Having Seizure And Moments Later He Revives; Witnesses Are Calling It A 'Miracle'
Tim Tebow is being credited with performing a miracle after praying over a man who fell unconscious while having a seizure.
The NFL star-turned-baseball player was signing autographs and greeting fans after playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions on Tuesday when he noticed a man in the front row of the stands - identified as Brandon Berry - who had fallen to the ground and was foaming at the mouth.
According to KNXV, Tebow ran over to him, placed a hand on him, and bowed his head in prayer. According to witnesses, moments after the minor leaguer prayed for him, Berry was upright coughing and gasping for air.
He reportedly stayed with Berry for around 15 minutes until paramedics arrived.
One witness, Daniel Kelly, told the Associated Press: "It was a miracle moment that happened there."
Kari Van Horn, reporter for ABC15 Arizona, tweeted: "Heading back to the station but I have video of it all. I just witnessed a MIRACLE. #Tebow."
According to ABC News, the 30-year-old Berry was taken to an emergency room and has since been released home, where he is recovering.
Speaking to ABC News later, Tebow said praying for the man had been his "first instinct" when he saw what was happening.
"You just remember what's important," Tebow later told ABC News. "Baseball's awesome it's something I'm so excited I get a chance to pursue, but what's important is lives matter, people matter. This young man, he mattered. So my first instinct was to just be with him, put my hands on him and pray for him.
"We get caught up in so many different things, things that we're pursuing and we forget about what matters most is the people around us," he added.
Tebow signing autographs. Fan has what looks like seizure. Not moving. Tebow puts hand on him and says a prayer. Man breathes. WOW.
