Woman Who Suffered Stillbirth And Four Miscarriages Gets A Shock From Her Doctor After 17 Years; Now She's Praising God For Miracle Baby
After suffering four miscarriages and the birth of a stillborn child at six months, Dana and Arkell Graves had already resigned themselves to the fact that they would never be biological parents.
They adopted a son named Keelyn, who they refer to as their first miracle. Little did the couple know that God had another miracle in store for them.
To help heal from all the miscarriages, Dana started walking with her friends in the hope of losing weight. But unlike them, she wasn't shedding any pounds. Suspicious, Dana went to her doctor, and the news he provided her came as a pleasant shock - she was five months pregnant.
"I was ecstatic," she tells KDVR. "We hadn't planned anything, we weren't trying."
Dana and Arkell were actually the subject of a video that went viral last year. In it, Dana surprises her husband with the news but putting literal buns in the oven and a sonogram picture next to the buns.
When Arkell realised the news, he was so ecstatic that he couldn't say anything but "You're pregnant" over and over again. When his wife announced that the she was 19 weeks pregnant and the baby was due on February 16, he covered his face with his shirt and burst into tears in what was clearly an emotional moment.
Now, one year after Dana and Arkell's heartwarming pregnancy video went viral, their son Kaleb "Baby Bun" Graves has finally been released from the neonatal intensive care unit.
As a special treat, Kaleb and his parents even rode in a limousine from the hospital back to their home in Dinwiddie, Virginia. "Kaleb is riding down the highway and now he is asleep on his first car/limo ride home," they posted on Facebook. "We give God all the praise!"
Kaleb was born October 20, 2015, 16 weeks before his due date and just a few days after the announcement of his "miracle conception." Despite all the complications they faced with Kaleb's birth, his parents never lost their faith in God and continually shower Him with praises.
"During this last year I've had some emotional trying times. I questioned my judgment, I questioned my faith and I questioned God. But I never lost my Faith in God. Each day He soothed me, made me a little stronger and calmed my sense of anxiousness," says Dana.
