New Delhi, Feb. 25 : EFICOR (Evangelical Fellowship of India Commission Relief), an Evangelical Christian Relief and Development Agency, has the pleasure of inviting Christian Organizations, Mission Agencies, Christian Institutions and Churches in India to nominate candidates for Jim Elliot Andrew Memorial Award 2003 – 2004.

BACKGROUND OF THE AWARD:

Purpose:
In remembrance and appreciation of Jim Elliot Andrew, staff of EFICOR who died at a young age of 26 years while working among the Maltos of Bihar in 1984, the Board and Society of EFICOR have decided to create
an Award, to be given each year for an outstanding contribution made by an Indian Christian to Holistic Mission in India. The value of this Award will be Rs.30,000 for the year 2003 – 04.

Eligibility Criteria – A person who has been involved in holistic mission work in India for minimum of 10 years preferably located in the field.

Selection process
· Nomination for the Award can only be made by Organizations,
Mission agencies, churches and institutions. Self nomination would
not be entertained.

· The Award Committee to be constituted by the EFICOR Board consisting of key Indian Christian leaders will scrutinize the applications and make suitable recommendation to the EFICOR Board.

· The decision to give the Award will be made by the EFICOR Board in early April and the Award will be handed over on EFICOR Day, the 30th of April.

· A write up on the contribution of the nominee to holistic

Financial calendar of the Award – The Award will be given as per EFICOR's financial calendar year of April to March.

The last date for receiving the nominations is March 31, 2004.
