Hope Builders International' s Sees Hope Kindles up in Congo
Congo-Kinshasa--- The Democratic Republic of Congo continues to make strides toward the restoration of the country following decades of civil war.
Hope Builders International's Johan Gous reported their teams saw a recent breakthrough in the rainforest. But, he says, to reach this people group, it first had to be found. "The Babongu people have receded way into the forest--that's why it took us seven days to walk in to get to the chief's village."
Gous says as a result of that first outreach, there is not only a seedling church, but a growing mission’s vision. That means training is the next step to meeting a growing spiritual need. The first leaders will have started their training and getting the materials there to get the buildings built.
"We're getting ourselves geared up to return to the Congo in September," said Gous. Two training centers will form the heart of the work.
Hope Builders supports the body of Christ through local discipleship, national partnerships and international support of indigenous missions.
