AOG Conference in Progress Marks 80th Anniversary
From 17th April to 23rd April 2004, Assemblies of God (AOG) UK holds its conference and Bible Week at the Haven Holiday Park, Hafan y Mor, Pwllheli, North Wales. The theme of the conference is “Dream Big Dream for God”. Respectable speakers include Paul Weaver, the general supervisor of AOG of Great Britain; Matthew Barnett, best-selling author of “The Church That Never Sleeps” and Pastor of one of America's fasting growing churches and Tayo Adeyomi, senior Pastor of New Wine Church in Woolwich, London, England.
This year AOG is celebrating its 80th anniversary in UK. The motivating factor for the formation of AOG in Great Britain and Ireland was the need for fellowship and co-operation between emerging Pentecostal churches. The first meeting was held on 1st February 1924 in Aston, Birmingham.
AOG is a classical Pentecostal fellowship of evangelical churches which place a distinct emphasis on the need for the Holy Spirit's empowerment in their worship, work and witness. This emphasis, expressed both in doctrine and practice, has resulted in a growth realising some 50 million adherents in more than 50 nations of the world.
