'The 100' season 3 spoilers, plot spoilers: Lexa and Clarke may reconcile

Eliza Taylor and Alycia Debnam-Carey as Clarke and LexaCW

Season 2 of "The 100" ended with Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) betraying Clarke (Eliza Taylor) to save the rest of the Grounders, leaving Clarke and the rest of her group at Mount Weather. They ended on very bad terms but it appears that there is a chance of them reconciling, according to Debnam-Carey.

"Lexa will make it happen one way or the other," she told Entertainment Weekly. "It might not be an easy reconciliation, but it'll happen. If Lexa wants something, it'll happen."

It won't be smooth sailing, however.

"She's opening up a wound again," the actress explained. "What happened last time when she was emotionally available, her lover was killed. It's a very dangerous position to be in, but at the end of the day, she's only human and she'll have that human emotion."

Meanwhile, Taylor stated a while back in a report from TVLine that her character Clarke is annoyed at Lexa at this stage, and that their reunion in season 3 won't be a pretty sight. She also explained that right now, Clarke is simply trying to survive, putting everything else aside for the time being.

Fans will be seeing the two fighting and attempting to reconcile this season 3, despite previous rumors that Debnam-Carey might not be available due to her involvement in AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead." According to a report from Fashion Style, however, the actress has worked out her schedule and will remain a driving force in the third season of "The 100."

Series creator Jason Rothenberg explained that they still intend to "dive deep" into the story and lore of the Grounders clans, from their origins to their mysticisms, and that Debnam-Carey's character is important since she is a figure that allows them to explore the story in a big way.

There is no official release date for "The 100" season 3, although it is currently scheduled to premiere on The CW network in early 2016.
