After capturing the attention of viewers worldwide in its first season, "13 Reasons Why" fans are waiting to hear about a second season. The stars and creators of the hit Netflix series keep quiet when asked about a possible season renewal.

The Netflix series, "13 Reasons Why" was adapted from Jay Asher's bestselling young adult novel. The story revolved around the suicide of teenager Hannah Baker and how each person in her life played a role on how she felt that made her end her life. The storyline of the series created quite the controversy and gained a lot of viewers worldwide.

Even though the first season captured the whole story told in the novel, executive producer Selena Gomez believes there are more stories to be told about the different characters involved in Hannah's story.

More talk about a second season for the series arose when news came out that Ross Butler, a "13 Reasons Why" cast member, would be replaced for his role as Reggie in the second season of CW's hit TV series "Riverdale." According to a statement given to TVLine by series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, they would have loved to have kept Butler "but because of his commitments to other projects" they wouldn't have been able to use him. This had fans suspecting Butler would be working on the second season of "13 Reasons Why."

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, lead co-stars Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford of "13 Reasons Why" talked about the series and their sudden rise to fame because of it. When asked about a second season, Minnette answered, "We don't know yet. We really don't."

With the series being so successful, stars and creators of the show believe they have made their impact by having viewers be open to talking about the issue.

While the second season has yet to be confirmed, the entire first season of "13 Reasons Why" is available on Netflix.
