The future of "19 Kids and Counting" has been uncertain since the news of Josh Duggar's scandal broke. While TLC did pull remaining episodes off the air since Josh released a statement on May 21 confirming the molestation allegations, the network has not announced whether it will cancel the show or renew it for another season.

Last month, it was speculated that TLC was considering a spin-off that would focus on Jill and Derick Dillard and Jessa and Ben Seewald. And while Jessa and Jill are very popular, a network source told Radar Online that there are "no real plans for any spinoff at this point."

A TLC source also spoke to The Wrap about the spin-off rumors, saying, "As far as I'm aware, there's nothing there."

On June 5, Jill and Jessa spoke to Megyn Kelly on "The Kelly File" to give their take on the scandal, and the sisters also admitted that they were among Josh's victims. Prior to the sisters' appearance on the Fox news channel, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar also spoke with Kelly and said that as of the moment, they are more focused on their family than they are about the future of their hit reality series.

As TLC has yet to decide on the fate of the series, NPR TV critic Eric Deggans gave his take on the matter and told The Wrap that "it will be really hard for TLC to bring this show back."

The website went on to report that media experts said that the Duggars' Fox News appearance may have only complicated any potential chance for the show to return to TLC's schedule in the future. Deggans said that the Kelly interview may have fallen short on tackling the sensitive issue.

"They'll have to sit down with someone who is really independent and answer some tough questions about what happened," Deggans told The Wrap. "If they do that, maybe they can salvage it. But now, I don't see how TLC brings it back."
