Young Christians from as far away as the Faroe Islands have travelled to Germany for a week of study and training at TeenStreet.

The 2011 programme is underway in Offenburg, joined by 2,000 Christian teens and leaders from across Europe.

This year's speakers include Josh and Debs Walker, who will lead the teens in a programme based on experiencing the real Jesus, helping them to discover the Jesus of the Bible and who He is today.

The daily teaching sessions are followed by small group discussions facilitated by experienced volunteers who are able to assist and counsel the teens through any issues that arise.

In addition to teaching, teens are given plenty of opportunities to get to know each other through activities like sport, music, dance, arts and topical workshops looking at important issues like eating disorders.

Evenings are a time of worship and outreach day gives the youths the chance to put everything they've learned into practice by serving a nearby community.

There are also ‘Raise and Give’ events for the young people to donate towards other Christian projects around the world that are assisting teens in need.

Over the last two decades, TeenStreet has grown to include events in Europe, South America, Malaysia, Australia and South Africa.

Through website forums and follow-up material, initiatives have also been developed to engage with the participants after they return home.
