BET announced the nominees for the 2014 BET Awards today, and hip-hop and R&B's finest are well-represented.

Industry veterans Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Drake and Pharrell Williams are nominated for multiple awards, but there are some newcomers in this year's line-up, including R&B artists Jhené Aiko and August Alsina. BET has also beefed up its international nominee selection, with top African and UK artists being considered for the coveted prize. "Best Gospel Artist" will also be a tough category this year, with Christian superstars Hezekiah Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Tamela Mann, and others being nominated.
