2014 Academy Award nominations: Full list of nominees announced for 86th annual Academy Awards

The award season is in full swing with the announcement of nominees for the 86th annual Academy Awards this morning.

The Oscar nominations were announced live on Jan. 16 . Actor Chris Hemsworth presented the nominations with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. The Academy Awards will take place Sunday, March 2, 2014.

As expected, the star-studded "American Hustle" and "Gravity" lead the nominations with ten nods each.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence received her second consecutive Oscar nomination for best Actress in a Supporting Role. American Hustle's Amy Adams and Gravity's Sandra Bullocks have both been nominated for best Actress in a Leading Role. Both stars will compete with Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench and Meryl Streep for the leading actress award.

Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCario, Matthew McConaughey, Bruce Dern and Chiwetel Ejiofor are up for best Actor in a Leading Role.
