To welcome the 2015, many will be closely monitoring the world's tallest building in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa. This 828-meter structure will be in the limelight as it becomes the focal point of welcoming 2015 with a different kind of bang.

Still fresh in the minds of many was the record-setting 2014 fireworks display of Dubai where close to 500,000 shells were fired in just six minutes. Now Dubai is aiming to top that performance with a some help on the technology side to produce a six-part firework, laser and light show over in Downtown Dubai.

The mile-long building will be feature a swathed LED screen and make use of the most advanced pyrotechnics to coincide with the latest LED-illuminating technology. That includes showing off strobe lighting effects, volcanic waves and showering stars, in what Dubai hopes to be something that can top their 2014 record-setting performance.

"The Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala has defined its credentials in a short span of time as the world's most-watched New Year's Eve spectacle surpassing the visitor turnout at celebrations in New York, Sydney and London. With visitors from all over the world arriving to join in the festivities, the event has become a defining spectacle that adds to the pride of Dubai" says Ahmad Al Matrooshi, the Managing Director for Emaar Properties.

People over in Dubai can book a place for the event although they are advised to use public transport to get to the venue.

The Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala should be an interesting one to check out and you don't even have to be there to see the fabulous display. People can catch a glimpse of the planned record-setting feat via YouTube where you can choose from different camera angles. You can click here to view it.
