The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) is just days away and people should be tuning in to MTV on Sunday, Aug. 30 starting 9 p.m. EST to witness the famous awards show.

This year, the big event will be held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles and will be aired live on the music video channel for U.S. audiences.

According to the Independent, VMAs will not be available for online streaming, which means that people should tune in to their TV screens; and for those who are in the United Kingdom, the show will be aired on Monday, Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. BST on MTV UK.

It has also been confirmed that this year's VMAs will be hosted by Miley Cyrus. The last time Cyrus was seen at the event, she sparked controversy due to her performance with Robin Thicke.

This year, the "Wrecking Ball" singer is expected to raise some eyebrows especially those from parent advocacy groups, as she was given "free rein" by VMA producer Garrett English.

"Obviously there are standards and various other things that were always a part of it, but no, [no rules]," English told Entertainment Weekly,

Meanwhile, as if Miley's twerking performance wasn't enough to surprise viewers, it has also been confirmed that the show will have Nicki Minaj as its opening act, as reported in MTV News.

Minaj will be coming back to the event to perform and this year will be her third time in the awards show.

Last year, she performed "Anaconda" described in MTV's report as "jaw-dropping" and "booty-popping." This year, people just have to wait what Minaj has to offer.
