The 2016 Honda Civic has just nabbed yet another award for its manufacturer.

The new car is fresh off a recent win, claiming the title of "Best Compact Sedan" at the recently concluded Hispanic Motor Press Awards that took place in California, the Dispatch Tribunal reported.

It's yet another win for the car this year, coming after it was also recently hailed as Kelley Blue Book's "Best Buy of the Year" in its specific class, according to the official Honda website.

It's a welcome return to form for the Honda Civic after recent incarnations failed to impress as much.

For the 2016 model, Honda went back to the drawing board and decided to start off fresh in order to create a better automobile, and it seems to be a goal the company has achieved if its reception is any indication.

The car is drawing rave reviews due in large part to its improved fuel economy.

According to Green Car Reports, the 2016 Honda Civic gets right around 35 mpg for its versions that operate with a CVT, regardless of whether or not it also makes use of two-liter four cylinder engine or the 1.5 liter turbo four. That improved fuel economy may not put it on exactly the same level as the Toyota Prius, but, it is now within striking distance.

The 2016 Honda Civic also comes with an Eco Mode that drivers can use to get even better fuel economy.

The new car also offers a larger interior, allowing its passengers to stay comfortable all throughout their trip.

Honda's classic design for the Civic has also been updated just a bit to give it that sporty edge that enables it compete with some of the newer models.

More news about the 2016 Honda Civic is expected to be made available in the near future.
