Google launched a while back two new additions to its Nexus lineup. However, it seems that the tech giant still has something up its sleeves for fans of the flagships and will reportedly relaunch a new edition of its Nexus 7 tablet. In addition, speculations suggest that Google is thinking of tapping again China-based Huawei for the new iteration.

Due to the success of the premium Nexus 6P flagship this year, Huawei will be coming back with another Nexus iteration next year, noted Phone Arena. However, the industry follower mentioned that the idea is only a speculated one at this point, as Google has not yet released details about upcoming Nexus lineups.

However, Know Your Mobile reasoned that the emergence of hybrid and premium tablets might tip the decision of Google toward releasing a new Nexus 7 tablet. In addition, the company has just released two new smartphones, and the Nexus 5X and 6P cover both current-gen flagships in the midrange and premium smartphone markets – Google may well release a refreshed Nexus 7 with premium specs to expand the market base.

According to Tech Times, although it is still up in the air whether Google will reintroduce the tablet as a midrange, budget-friendly device much like its predecessors or go the premium way, fans may look forward to the new Nexus 7 reportedly making its debut in the middle of next year, particularly during Google's own I/O event, which may take place in either May or June.

The original Nexus 7 lineup was released back in July 2012, manufactured by Asus. It was distinctively known as the first Android tablet, with above-average specs and a budget-friendly price tag. Google refreshed the lineup with a second-gen Nexus 7 tablet the year after, and the 2013 edition had improved specs and overall features.
