2016 Samsung Galaxy: Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) go official in Europe

When Samsung announced the Galaxy J-series last year, it started as a China-exclusive lineup, but ended up being available in other regions. The 2016 editions seem to have the same release roadmap, as the new Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 have been listed in European websites.

SamMobile confirms that the 2016 editions of Samsung Galaxy's mid-ranger series are now available in several countries in Europe. Reportedly, the 2016 Galaxy J5 has already been listed in Samsung's French website, while the 2016 Galaxy J7 is already one of the selections in Samsung Spain.

According to the industry follower, the eventual availability of the new Galaxy J-series iterations outside of China is already expected. However, it is a surprise that Samsung decided to expand the release of the 2016 Galaxy J this early.

Meanwhile, there are subtle differences between the models that carried over to the European territories. For the 2016 Galaxy J7, the European version only features 2 GB of RAM, whereas the original 2016 edition launched a few weeks ago in China carries 3 GB of RAM. In addition, the list mentions the new Galaxy J7 to have a 1280 x 720 resolution, a step-down from the Chinese version which carries 1080p full HD resolution.

It is also unclear on whether Samsung opted for the Exynos 7870 or the Snapdragon 617 processor for the European version. It could also be that the South Korea-based tech giant made the two Galaxy J7 versions available at the same time for its European fans.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if the new editions of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will be joined by other 2016 iterations in the lineup, since there are also the new versions of the Galaxy J1 and Galaxy J3. It has already been revealed that the 2016 Galaxy J1 launched in some regions like UAE and Russia, and may even be available as a carrier-locked selection for AT&T in the US soon.
