Just like most cars set to come out in the coming years, Volkswagen is a brand to watch. While the brand is best known for its elite Beetle brand, not to be forgotten is the Passat.

For 2016, Volkswagen intends to offer a refreshed version of the Passat, something that teeters along the lines of midsize SUVs made for the family. The upcoming vehicle was recently shown off in Brooklyn, New York and from the looks of it, the 2016 Volkswagen Passat is another vehicle that will surely gain notice.

The exteriors carry a new substantial look, somehow places it in line with modern vehicles that are set to take center stage in the car market segment. The 2016 Passat is highlighted by all-new hood, fenders, bumpers, and trunklids, bumping its style a bit to the delight of picky car owners.

Under the hood, the Passat will offer three engine choices — a 1.8-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder variant, a 3.6-liter VR6, and a 2.0-liter TDI diesel four-cylinder option — which should in all pack a punch as far as drivers who want power for their vehicle are concerned.

Inside, the 2016 Volkswagen Passat doesn't seem to be lacking as well. It offers the usual technology enhancements ranging from infotainment features to connectivity needs to blend in with the lush interior that should pamper away the eventual car owners.

Like most cars these days, its advanced features place emphasis on safety as well. Automatic post-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, a blind spot monitor with rear traffic alert, lane departure warning, and parking steering assist are all available, depending on trim level.

There is no official word on the pricing for the 2016 Volkswagen Passat as of the moment, but according to Volkswagen, the base model (1.8T S six-speed automatic) will have prices starting at $22,400 plus destination.
