The 2017 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is expected to arrive later this yearBMW

The 2017 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is expected to be similar to its predecessor. Much of the previous model will be retained but it will be accentuated with more elegance and style. In terms of options, there will be a few on its engine, and several on its interiors. It is expected to arrive later this year.

Car and Driver reported that the upcoming 2017 model of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe will be nothing much more than the current model in terms of cosmetics. Not much has changed since its introduction back in 2014, but under the hood is a different kind of story.

The soon-to-be-released Gran Coupe is already confirmed to be equipped with an upgraded 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will be producing 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, a slight increase of eight and three from the previous version. Also, a new 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six cylinder will also be available to produce 320 horsepower and 330 lb-ft, which offers an increase of 20 and 30, respectively, also from last year. It is speculated that it can reach 60 miles per hour in a little over 5 seconds and the company has not yet released how efficient their new engines are.

On the outside, the 2017 model is still expected to offer a minimum of 12 exterior colors. Headlights will be LED technology equipped, and it will be a little revamped on its rear lights just to accentuate its aggressive and sporty look. Its roofline and wheelbase are a litlle bit longer but unnoticeable with the naked eye.

The interiors will still be focused on making things stylish but not complicated. As with other BMW models, uncluttered instrumentations and driver-focused controls are expected. Another feature is a 6.5-inch infosystem, equipped with the BMW's iDrive interface that offers controls over navigation, entertainment and climate when outfitted.

Active cruise control, radar detection, surround view camera system will also be optional, as well as the high-resolution Head-Up display system. Its trunk is also expected to open up with a swipe of the foot under its bumber, similar to other sedans of the German automobile giant.

Beemer afficionados are anticipating that the 2017 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe will launch later this year and it is expected not to be under US$40,000 for its basic model.
