After a one-year hiatus, the Hybrid version of the Honda Accord comes back with the 2017 edition. Speculations suggest the interval from the previous 2015 edition has worked wonders as the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid features improvements.

Reviews of the new 2017 edition are now making their rounds online. According to AutoBlog, Honda has high hopes for the new Hybrid, making estimates of as many as 30,000 units sold for a year. While this may be high, the industry follower believes that the improvements in the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid will greatly help.

While the exterior and design of the hybrid Accord did not change much from its 2014 and 2015 look, the improvements under the hood mark the return of the new edition. The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid is powered by a next-gen hybrid system with an I-VTEC engine that outputs 212 total system horsepower. The numbers look good too, as hybrid figures reflect 49 city and 47 highway for its EPA ratings, with a combined 48 miles per gallon consumption.

Meanwhile, other features also got an upgrade. The new 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid has better sense in driving, including a tweaked Active Cruise Control (ACC) that automatically maintains safe distances from the car ahead, and also automates braking and acceleration depending on road and driving conditions. Although the ACC can be turened off, drivers also have choices when it comes to their preferred cruise styles, as the new hybrid sedan comes with EV, Engine, and Hybrid driving modes. This means that drivers have a wider range of power, speed, and performance levels when cruising.

Price-wise, the 2017 edition also has competitive tags against other hybrids. The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid base model starts at $29,605.
