The 2017 Toyota 4Runner sports utility vehicle is due to come out later this year.

The Japanese car manufacturer released a statement saying that the TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium of the newest edition of the mid-size SUV will start arriving at authorized Toyota dealerships by the end of 2016. This will make a total of six 4Runner versions that will be available in the market.

John Myers, national manager, trucks and SUVs, of the Toyota Vehicle Marketing and Communications, revealed that mid-size SUV has been a popular product for the past decade.

"The 4Runner has a large and loyal following, with dependability being a key factor. Of all the 4Runners purchased in the last ten years, 90 percent are still on the road," Myers said in a press release shared by Toyota Place. "4Runner owners often take their SUVs off the beaten path, so these new TRD Off-Road grades will be a popular recognition of TRD's history in the off-road arena."

The TRD Off-Road models will feature a Multi-Terrain Select system and Crawl Control program standard that features an added feature in the current SR5 model. This system could let the driver select which type of driving mode to use in a specific terrain condition. On the other hand, the Crawl Control program will utilize the breaks of the vehicle and control it using a constant speed over a rugged terrain.

Also, the TRD Off-Road models will use customized badges located on the vehicles C-Pillar and floor mats. It will also have dipped seven-spoke alloy wheels and will be adorned with a red TRD stitching that can be seen on its front headrest.

The suggested retail price for the 2017 Toyota 4Runner is unannounced at the moment. But interested buyers will get to know more information about the pricing of all versions of the mid-size SUV, namely the TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, the SR5, SR5 Premium, Limited and the TRD Pro.
