Hyundai has released another teaser for the 2019 Veloster ahead of its anticipated debut later this month.

In the holiday-themed promotional video, the upcoming hatchback is seen putting on a light show. Though the teaser is only 20 seconds long and LEDs cover the vehicle's exterior, it still previews some of the design elements of the 2019 Veloster.

From what can be observed in the clip, Hyundai's next-generation hatchback will have an evolved design. Leaving behind its predecessor's quirky design, the upcoming Veloster adopts a more aggressive appearance. It also looks similar to other new vehicles released by the South Korean automaker.

The side profile of the 2019 Veloster reveals a sloping roofline, muscular wheel arches, a larger glass section and a tailgate-mounted spoiler. The teaser also previews the most unique aspect of the nameplate — a single door on the driver's side. The other side of the hatchback is expected to have two doors.

Based on previous spy shots, the second-generation Veloster is also expected to have a more streamlined front fascia with slim LED headlights and a large hexagonal grille. At the rear, there will be center-mounted dual exhaust pipes.

Hyundai has been tight-lipped about the technical specifications of the 2019 Veloster. However, with the second-generation hatchback slated to use a longer version of the 2018 Hyundai Elantra's wheelbase, it is expected to be offered with 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter turbocharged engines. The upcoming vehicle will likely have a front-wheel drive with a choice of either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster is expected to break cover at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, to be held from Jan. 13 to 28. However, the teaser also mentioned another date: Feb. 20. This date will be right in the middle of the 2018 Winter Olympics, to be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. This seemingly suggests that the 2019 Veloster will also make an appearance during the upcoming Winter Games.
