Volkswagen is once again gunning to unseat Toyota as the world's biggest automaker. The German brand is banking on its newest model on the horizon, the modern yet classically-made 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. After selling 6.23 million vehicles globally in 2017, the 2019 Jetta is targeting young millennials and families as well as rebuilding consumer trust.

How do they intend to do that? Volkswagen is packing the new Jetta with more features but selling it for a considerably lower price than its predecessor. It has been announced that the new Jetta's competitive pricing will start at $18,545 for an S-variant, 1.4L TSI with a six-speed manual transmission. It comes power-packed with the latest in VW design language while still retaining the MQB platform that it still shares with other models such as the Arteon and the Atlas.

Compared to the older model, the new Jetta sports a wider, longer and lower look and a noticeable fastback-style profile. In an interview with Autoweek, Marco Pavone, Volkswagen's Head of Exterior Design said, "What's going to call attention from the first glance is the sculpted body side and the strong shoulder line that runs from the taillight to the driver door." Inside, its clean, soft-to-the-touch interiors are deemed to be quite similar to the Golf.

The Jetta boasts of being a redesign and not an overdesigned car model. This gives it a tasteful look with a first-class feel. The sculpted hood makes an impact with energy-efficient LED taillights and headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL). It will also provide ample lighting within the cabin with its panoramic sunroof.

A first for Volkswagen is a 10-color ambient lighting feature which will help change the mood inside the Jetta instantly. Its technological features make it more digitally appealing, with an eight-inch touchscreen navigation system, coupled with a 10-inch customizable digital cockpit. Drivers can even sync compatible smartphone applications with the Jetta's touchscreen display.

Any audiophile will surely be pleased to hear that the new Jetta will also be the very first Volkswagen in the United States to offer audio technology by BeatsAudioTM.

The wait will soon be over as the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta is set to be released this spring.
