There are more than a thousand ways to reach out to others with the intention of loving them with the love of Christ. If you've been hindered to do that simply because you don't know how, this article is for you.

Here are three ways you can reach out to others for Christ – without any gimmicks.

1. Be authentic

I just love how Jesus said in John 4:24, "For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth."

We could also apply this in the way we reach out to others.

Preposterous, you might say, but take into consideration what Paul said in Romans 12:1, "And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him."

If we consider "worship" as merely singing and going to church, we miss the point. When we live for God alone, and offer our bodies for His purpose and delight, we are actually worshipping Him as well. In light of this, being an authentic, honest-to-goodness kind of Christian will be a great way to show others how good God is!

Think about it. An authentic, genuinely compassionate person will always be more effective in reaching out to the lost compared to those who are merely trying to follow the Bible by the book. Think about Jesus: He shocked Bible scholars with His genuine and authentic God-focused and God-driven compassion.

2. Live a godly life

You can serve as witness of God's graciousness by the way you live. You don't need to think of more gimmicks. Rather, just live a godly life.

Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12, "Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others."

3. Choose your words wisely

No matter what you do to reach out to people, the moment you release a word that doesn't sound pleasing to the Lord, you will be pushing others away from you.

Why?

James 3:10-12 reminds us: "And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can't draw fresh water from a salty spring."

Knowing this, we should be wise and choose the words we allow to come out of our mouth, no matter how irritated or agitated we might be at times.

Colossians 4:5-6 says: "Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone."
