When troubles come, all of us will run to something or someone we can trust. Kids run to their parents when they're afraid of the dark. Just like them, we will always run to someone we see as stronger and more able than us.

We Christians should learn to run towards God when troubles come. He is the only one who is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. No one is as powerful as our God. Best of all, He's tremendously loving. In fact, there's no one as loving as Him for He is love personified.

Thus, friends, we can trust in the Lord. He never fails to fulfill His promises, and never turns His back on His words:

"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

That said, we can count on God's word to be fulfilled even in times of trouble. We should put our faith in God and trust Him that He will do as He said. All we need to do is to hold on to Him and obey Him in faith.

Hold on to His word

Friends, here are three of God's promises that we can hold on to when all sorts of troubles come.

God will help us when we are surrounded by troubles since we are His people - (Isaiah 41:8-10)

We are God's people, and therefore we are His possession. He will take care of us. He will not cast us out, rather, He will uphold us because of His righteousness.

""But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham My friend. You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to you, 'You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'"

If we make God our refuge and dwell in Him, He will keep us - (Psalm 91:9-13)

If we trust in God and make Him our hiding place, He will make sure to protect and keep us. He is our defense and our safe refuge.

"Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot."

He will make us complete according to His pleasure, no matter what we go through - (Hebrews 13:20-21)

Regardless of what happens to us, as we follow the Lord Jesus Christ, God will continue molding and shaping us so that we will be able to do the works that please Him.

"Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."
