Investing in education is one of the top priorities of entrepreneurs today worldwide. Generally, a business executive will spend more dollars on learning about business practices, current events and innovation than anyone else.

A lot of resources are put by people in business in gaining access to learning from business books, business seminars and coaching trainings. It would be a waste not to consider untapped sources of knowledge and learnings to be able to grow a business.

However, so many businessmen -- especially Christian businessmen -- miss the opportunity of learning business practices and principles from the Bible. There are dozens, if not hundreds of revelations that the Bible can give to us on how to build, grow and manage businesses. Here are just a few scriptures and the entrepreneurial ideas we can learn from them.

Joshua 1:7 "Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go."

Let's start with one scripture that encompasses all. God promises that meditation to His Word will bring great success if we are careful to read and obey what it teaches.

1 Samuel 18:14 "And David had success in all his undertakings, for the Lord was with him."

David became successful in his career and his undertakings not because of his knowledge or competency. Although those are helpful, we succeed and thrive because of God's presence. This applies not only in business, but in every area of life.

Malachi 3:10 "Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need."

When we return a 10th of God's provisions to Him, He promises protection of our business dealings.

Proverbs 22:16 "Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty"

God intends for business to always be social in nature, encompassing and benefitting not only the prosperous but also those in need. We can be a blessing to the poor through social responsibility projects, participating in social entrepreneurship and practicing responsible finance.
