The year is ending, and soon we will face the start of a new year. But while many people are excited to face new adventures and see new things in the coming year, some might be fearful of it.

Some fear that they might experience something bad again in the coming year. Some fear being heartbroken again. Some fear failing in business. Some fear that they may not see what they are hoping for in the future.

Whatever it is, they fear it, and so they dread the coming of the New Year.

Dear readers, if you are fearful or worried that 2018 may not be good to you, remember that God is always good to all of us - including you. To encourage you to face the New Year without fear, here are a few Bible verses for you.

Christ is with us as we obey the Great Commission - Matthew 28:18-20

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen."

Victory is always available in Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:56-58

"The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

God has given us the Spirit of power - 2 Timothy 1:7

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

The LORD is our Shepherd - Psalm 23

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Those who trust in the LORD will never be shaken - Psalm 112:1-8

"Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; He will not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies."
