HTC has just unveiled its latest flagship offering, the HTC 10. With some flagships already out in the market sporting the latest in under-the-hood specs and features, what makes the HTC 10 stand out?

Return to UltraPixel camera

According to ArsTechnica, HTC managed to build up the "best flagship of 2016," and one of the stand-out features is its camera. Previously hinted at by HTC in a number of teasers, the new HTC 10 returned to the UltraPixel setup last seen on the One M8. With a 12-MP main camera, the HTC 10 manages to capture better images, even in low-light conditions. In addition, the UltaPixel setup for its selfie camera at the front also has OIS enabled, a first for a smartphone flagship.

Lightly-skinned software

Although HTC layered Android M with its own Sense 8.0 interface, The Verge said there is not much bloatware on the HTC 10. This means that the interface and apps are lightly skinned, so apps processing is quicker. Meanwhile, the lighter, streamlined Sense8 means that users will not need to familiarize themselves with a number of heavy apps for each feature.

Sound and audio

Previous iterations of the HTC flagship were known to provide BoomSound audio, and the HTC 10 did not disappoint. First impressions by CNET mentioned that the new BoomSound tech on the flagship even overshadowed the One M9, since the new iteration boasts of Hi-Fi audio.

Streamlined design

Meanwhile, the industry follower also lauded the more conventional design of the HTC 10. While some brand it as a generic form factor, the new, all-metal build of the HTC 10 lends a premium look and feel. In addition, some minor tweaks like changing the location of speakers, plus the chamfered edges, made the HTC 10 better-looking overall.

Premium specs

Since the HTC 10 is a flagship product, HTC pulled out all of the stops to make the new flagship perform at its best. The HTC 10 features a Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with 4 GB of RAM. In addition, the HTC 10 features a USB Type-C port, so the device offers quick-charge options and better power management.
