For some people, a challenge can have them turning to their bookmarked Bible verses and increasing their prayer time but for others, knowing where to turn in a crisis isn't always so straightforward. Although each problem comes with its own characteristics, it's common for people experiencing any sort of challenge to be afraid, feel isolated and lack hope.

The Bible is full of verses to comfort, inspire and uplift you as you face both everyday and out of the ordinary challenges but if you're not sure where to turn, these passages can set you in the right direction.

Isaiah 41:13 - For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

1 Peter 5:7 - Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Romans 8:17-18 - Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

James 1:2-3 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 - We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
