8 Bible verses on experiencing God's financial provision

It's been said that the more we chase money, the less of it we have, but the more we chase after Christ, every need - including your financial need - will be met through Him.

While God warns us over and over in scripture to steer clear of greed and the love of money, it's undeniable that He desires for believers to have money. God wants to bless us financially, not so that we can hoard it or be consumed by it but so that we can be free to pursue His purposes well provided for while having enough to be a blessing to others.

Jesus spoke often about money mostly pointing to the need for good stewardship because He cares about your financial needs. God meets our needs and provides us with the wisdom to properly manage the treasures He gives to us while also protecting our hearts from the deceitfulness of wealth and the temptation to value money too much.

Here are eight verses that tell us about how God wants us to experience His rich financial provision in a spiritually healthy way.

Genesis 50:21. "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Deuteronomy 8:18. "You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day."

Psalm 65:9. "You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it."

Matthew 6:30. "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?"

Matthew 10:30-31. "But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows."

Philippians 4:6. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

Philippians 4:19. "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Hebrews 13:5. "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
